A classic crucifix pendant made of 925 sterling silver with engraving, height ≈ 45 mm.
This large, eye-catching cross with a minimalist design is ideal for men of all ages. At the top of the cross are the Latin letters INRI — an abbreviation of Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, meaning “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” According to the New Testament, this phrase was originally written by Pontius Pilate and affixed to the cross upon which Christ was crucified. The four-pointed, or Latin, cross became widespread in the early centuries of Christianity. Early Christians transformed the symbol of the cross — once a pagan and Roman instrument of execution — into the central emblem of their faith. It came to embody the idea of salvation and rebirth through suffering, turning from a symbol of death into one of triumph and resurrection.
